A good quality and unusual Chinese export famille rose plate dating from the early Qianlong period c 1740-1750. The centre of the plate is decorated with a scene of a rider on horseback crossing a bridge towards a building in a walled garden, with a pavilion among the rocks in the distance. In the far distance are very faint mountains. The rim is decorated with a complex design of grisaille panels alternating with flowers against famille rose cloud and cracked ice designs. This plate is in excellent, undamaged, condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. As can be appreciated from the photographs, the enamels are in excellent condition.
