A good quality small Chinese blanc de Chine wine cup from the Dehua kilns in Fujian Province with a moulded fluted shape, and dating from the Kangxi period. There is a seal mark to the base which I have been unable to identify. Height 3.9cm
An almost identical cup (also with an illegible seal mark) is in the Hickley collection, and shown as item 111 in Kerr & Ayers book ‘Blanc de Chine, porcelain from Dehua’. A similar, although larger, cup is shown Donnelly’s book on Blanc de Chine in plate 29.
Dating: Kangxi 1662 - 1722
This wine cup is in excellent, undamaged, condition - no chips, cracks or restoration.
